Cryptocurrency

A cryptocurrency monetary policy is applied through a unique combination of software, cryptography and financial incentives, rather than the whim of trusted third parties, such as central banks, corporations or governments. Cryptocurrencies are powered by databases of verifiable and cryptographically secure transactions, called blockchains, which provide security and transparency.

A cryptocurrency network consists of a global community of stakeholders, including the validators that protect the network while adding transactions to the blockchain, traders who speculate about these radically market-oriented assets and the builders who work to integrate people into this new financial paradigm.
